2024 - Skills of the Outfits Results!

Here they are!!! Drum roll please.....................

The results of the Skills of the Outfits West - 2024 are in! Winners in each division showed great skill in 3 different classes: Herd work, Roping and a Ranch Horse Pattern. The scores from all three classes are then added together to determine the winner in each division. This means that sometimes the person who scored the highest in their sorting class might not necessarily win their overall division. I will share our high scores from each class below the overall division winners of the 2023 Skills of the Outfits West.

Thank you to ALL our riders! You all did very well and the numbers were close. It was stiff competition all around.

Youth Division

One of the very cool things about the Skills of the Outfits is how scores are tallied. It isn't enough just to be a great in the herd, really excel in your ranch horse pattern or be a fantastic roper. To take home a prize you need to be good at all three!

Each division has a division leader, someone who's scores, when combined for all three classes, are higher than anyone else's. In the Youth Division, this was Mya Martindale. She was such a treat to watch and really set the bar high! That being said, when looked at separately, the rider who held the high score for each class might not be the overall division winner.

This is the case across all division. I'd like to take a minute to give a shout out to some of the high scores that may not have been recognized with prizes but that are worthy of acknowledgement none the less.
