2024 Attendee Info
The 2024 Event will be held at the North Thompson Fall Fairgrounds in Barrierre B.C. on September 20 until 22nd. There will be the competition of course, but there will also be, for the first time this year, a Western Gear Maker's Market AND a whole bunch of community activities like the Salt Lick & Tunes Fiesta, a mouth watering meal accompanied by cowboy entertainment, Cowboy Church and plenty of opportunities to socialize and get to know your fellow competitors and Bridlehorse tradition enthusiasts. Not only that but there will of course be another "Riding the Bridled Stockhorse to Cattle" Workshop with Miles Kingdon on Friday September 20th! If you are attending the Skills of the Outfits ~ West of the Rockies...
Here is some important info you need to know!!!
Location...
The event is being held at the North Thompson Fall Fairgrounds. Enter off Barriere Lakes Rd. Do Not Enter off Dunn Lake Rd!. follow the Skills of the Outfit camping signs. Campers and horse trailers may be parked at the west end of the rodeo grounds next to the arena.

Upon Arrival...
Please visit the Rodeo office. You must register with the rodeo office that is located at the midpoint of the bleachers next to our camping area. You will also be required to sign a waiver if you haven’t already done so.
Camping...
All campers, whether competitors or spectators, must register at the Rodeo Office and pay $30 camping fee. All camping is dry camping. There are washroom, port-a-potties and shower facilities located in various areas around the fairgrounds. The closest shower facilities are available in the washroom closest to the stable. There are also showers in the Agriplex building. Please bring coins for the $3.00 donation per shower. Generators and propane fire pits are allowed on-site, but please be considerate with their location and use. Please be respectful of our hosts and leave the grounds as you found them!
Food...

A variety of food trucks will be located near the Agriplex. There is also a concession available in the Curling Club building across from the Agriplex. Concessions generally open early with breakfast items. Dinner is usually available until approximately 5:00pm. Several restaurants are located in Barriere including Sam’s Pizza, the Barriere Motor Inn and the Station House.
Parking...
Park anywhere on the west end of the rodeo grounds, next to the arena. Please do not block anyone else with your vehicle.
Stalls...
You will receive your stall number prior to your arrival by email.
Stabling will be in the stable closest to the rodeo arena. Shavings are available between the two stables (the second newer stable will be occupied with 4-H horses). There is also an area to dump manure and dirty shavings at this location. It is recommended that you bring a shovel, broom and wheelbarrow, as these are not available on-site.
Your stall deposit will be returned by etransfer after the event, if your stall is properly cleaned and swept.
General Site Rules...
Use common sense. Don't litter, be considerate of the other riders/campers/site visitors. Pick up after yourself, be respectful of neighbors when it comes to noise, generators, manure, garbage.
Departure...
Please leave your campsite, stall and area around your stall clean upon departure. As you are tidying up, please also pick up any empty bottles, cans, garbage, manure or anything else that you see laying around where it shouldn't be. We are guests at the North Thompson Fall Fairgrounds and we ask that everyone does their part to leave a good impression!
